Q. Why do I need a separate heart rate monitor, when the band contains a wrist heart rate monitor?
A.The wrist heart rate monitor is convenient and accurate for instantaneous readings, or reading heart rate while at rest. But when you engage in more rigorous activity, the reading becomes less accurate with outside factors like your wrist movement, sweat, etc. The UA Heart Rate™ chest-worn monitor is a more robust heart rate technology designed to directly measure your heart’s electrical impulses—providing continuous, highly accurate readings during physical activity.
Q. How do I know if my UA Heart Rate is paired to my UA Band?
A. During your workout sessions, you'll see colored LEDs on your UA Band™ that show your heart rate zone based on the information from your UA Heart Rate. You can also see your approximate heart rate when you swipe to the Fitness screen on your UA Band.
Q. Why can't I pair my UA Heart Rate to my UA Band?
A. If your UA Heart Rate is connected to your phone via the UA Record app, you won't be able to pair your UA Heart Rate to your UA Band. Try closing the UA Record app and after a short time you should be able to start your UA Band workout and see your UA Heart Rate connect.
Q. Why is my UA Heart Rate giving inaccurate readings?
A. The sensor pads on back of the chest strap must be in full contact with your skin. Additionally, do the following:
- Apply a few drops of water to the surface of the sensor pads to improve connectivity.
- Make sure the sensor pads are not being blocked in any way.
- Make sure that the chest strap is snug around your upper torso.
Q. Will wearing my UA Heart Rate cause skin irritation?
A. Your UA Heart Rate was developed using materials that were tested against a variety of conditions. All of these tests found that the materials are not irritating to the skin.
If you develop a skin condition while using your UA Heart Rate, please stop wearing it and consult a dermatologist.
